Vibrations of Reinforced Concrete Floor Systems

This presentation will assist the design professional in choosing an appropriate reinforced concrete floor system for situations where the effects from vibration must be considered. Provided will be simplified methods to determine key vibration characteristics of reinforced concrete floor systems that can be used to evaluate whether anticipated vibrations will be acceptable or not. Covered are floor systems subjected to walking and rhythmic excitations. Guidelines for sensitive equipment are also provided. Worked-out examples illustrate the use of the methods.
