Vibration, Sound, and Fire Resistance of Reinforced Concrete Buildings

This seminar presents current information on vibration, sound, and fire resistance characteristics of reinforced concrete. Sources of vibration and sound typically encountered in reinforced concrete buildings are discussed as are acceptance criteria for both. Guidelines are provided on how to choose a reinforced concrete floor system based on vibration acceptance criteria. Also presented is material on the inherent sound control and fire resistance qualities of reinforced concrete and how these qualities meet minimum code requirements for sound transmission and fire resistance.
