Design and Detailing of Low-Rise Reinforced Concrete Structures: SERIES

These webinars provide step-by-step design procedures and design aids that make designing and detailing reinforced concrete members simpler and faster. The requirements of the 2014 edition of Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete are presented in a straightforward manner with emphasis placed on the proper application of the provisions in everyday practice. Although the primary focus is on low-rise buildings, much of the content can be used in the design of buildings of any size.

Series sessions:

Session 1: Guidelines for Economy and Simplified Analysis Methods; (90 minutes, .15 CEU/1.5 PDH) -- On-Demand Video
This webinar presents general guidelines on how to achieve overall economy in low-rise reinforced concrete buildings and provides information on how to select an economic floor system. Also presented are simplified analysis methods for low-rise buildings, including how to locate the center of rigidity and how to distribute horizontal forces to the elements of the lateral-force-resisting system.

Session 2: Design and Detailing of Beams and One-way Slabs; (120 minutes, .2 CEU/2 PDH) -- On-Demand Video
This webinar presents design and detailing requirements for beams and one-way slabs in buildings assigned to SDC A through F. Included are many practical design aids and guidelines that make the design and detailing process simpler and faster.

Session 3: Design and Detailing of Columns and Joints; (120 minutes, .2 CEU/2 PDH) -- On-Demand Video
This webinar presents design and detailing requirements for columns and joints in buildings assigned to SDC A through F. Included are many practical design aids and guidelines that make the design and detailing process simpler and faster. Also provided is a method to determine a preliminary joint size for special moment frames.

Session 4: Design and Detailing of Two-way Slabs and Walls; 04/10/18 (120 minutes, .2 CEU/2 PDH)
This webinar presents design and detailing requirements for two-way slabs and walls in buildings assigned to SDC A through F. Included are many practical design aids and guidelines that make the design and detailing process simpler and faster.

Session 5: Design and Detailing of Diaphragms; 06/12/18 (120 minutes, .2 CEU/2 PDH)
This webinar presents design and detailing requirements for diaphragms in buildings assigned to SDC A through F. Included are methods on how to analyze diaphragms and how to determine the required reinforcement. Design and detailing of collector elements are also addressed.

Session 6: Design and Detailing of Foundations; 08/14/18 (120 minutes, .2 CEU/2 PDH)
This webinar presents design and detailing requirements for foundation systems commonly used in low-rise buildings assigned to SDC A through F. Included are many practical design aids and guidelines that make the design and detailing process simpler and faster. Also provided is a recommended design procedure for spread footings in buildings assigned to SDC D and above.
