This webinar provides an overview of the design and detailing requirements for special structural walls in accordance with ACI 318-19. These requirements underwent significant changes in the 2019 edition of ACI 318. Included in the presentation is a discussion of the ductile coupled reinforced concrete shear wall system, which is a new structural system recognized in ASCE/SEI 7-22 and ACI 318-19 that incorporates special structural walls. A demonstration of design aids to facilitate the design and detailing of special structural walls is also provided.
